This issue was published after Abattoir’s death. The cover is a foil cover, so it doesn’t show up quite right when shown digitally.

We open with Azrael testing his wrist-mounted, fully automatic shuriken cannon in the Batcave. Jean-Paul has let The System take him.

At Mercy General, GunHawk storms in with GunBunny, and demands immediate treatment for his girl – at gunpoint.

GCPD forms a perimeter around the hospital, and Lt. Kitch tries to negotiate without success.

Azrael infiltrates through the roof, and draws off GunHawk. They has fight, during which Gunhawk burns through all his ammo. Azrael nearly kills him, but is stopped by GCPD storming into the evacuated wing they are fighting in, and just opening fire on both of them.

Ultimately, Azrael overpowers GunHawk and leaves him injured and unconscious in a stairwell. When he comes to, Bullock, Kitch, and Montoya read him his rights, and Montoya tells him GunBunny’s condition is stable.

Detectives Montoya and Bullock, and Lt. Kitch take GunHawk into custody, with Montoya reassuring GunHawk that GunBunny is in stable condition.

So, this storyline would probably work better if there’d been no passage of time between the gun show and now, but instead we have the death of Abattoir, and with it the significant character shift that came with it between those issues. We get some acknowledgment of that, with one of the doctors mentioning that GunBunny should have been brought in sooner – but we also get the panel of a Tactical Team sniper referring to Batman as an honorary member of the Tactical Team, with the scene later when the Tactical Team moves in they open fire on both Batman and GunHawk.
