Question for backers about Legends of the Force
Quick question for my backers. I’m planning on doing a bonus episode of Legends of the Force giving a general overview of the West End Games books, but without going into details, which will not get a related blog post. So, some brief research on the Ewok films caused me to find that one of the characters from those films shows up later in the Black Fleet Crisis novels, which leads me to my question – would you be interested in videos on the two live-action Ewok films?
Film Review – Mr. Vampire
My Prose Review of Mr. Vampire is up.https://countzeroor.wordpress.com/2016/11/04/film-review-mr-vampire-1980/
I’m planning on covering more Hong Kong martial arts films in the future, though much of November, blog wise, will be leftover horror films from October. Think of it as pacing yourself with that leftover Halloween candy.
Film Review: Mr. Vampire (1980)
Jackie Chan, as a performer, is frequently compared with Buster Keaton and, as I’ve mentioned in my own review of Police Story at Letterboxd, Charlie Chaplin.
Well, Mr. Vampire, a martial arts horror-comedy film produced by Jackie Chan’s friend and fellow member of the Five Little Fortunes, is what I’d probably describe as the Hong Kong equivalent of the Abbott and Costello Meet… movies. Read more

Film Review: Blood and Lace (1971)
There’s a bit in an episode of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip where the characters on the series serial-numbers-filed-off version of Saturday Night Live are working on a sketch for Thanksgiving where the turkey spurts absurd, Army of Darkness levels of blood when carved. The bit is not shown, only talked about – with one of the characters commenting about the Prop guy thinking the level of blood is unrealistic with the comment”If it’s just a realistic amount of blood, then it’s… extremely disturbing…”
That is, perhaps, Blood and Lace‘s greatest strength, and its weakness. Read more

Feedback post for Legends of the Force
So, my Nintendo Power Retrospectives video for this month is done and uploaded, and will go up next week, and I’m working on my script for my next Legends of the Force video. I’ve tried to provide more background in these videos then there are on the original blog posts, and in the case of trilogies that fit in one chronological block, as with the Han Solo Adventures and Lando Calrissian Adventures, I’ll be combining all 3 books into one video for the sake of brevity. If you have any advice on the Legend of the Force videos, I’d appreciate it. Are you interested in more background on the works (the inside baseball stuff?). For the comics, would you like me to get more granular (going arc by arc instead of covering the inter-film blocks)? Are you interested in a special episode about the material for the West End Games RPG that came out in between the end of Marvel’s run and the start of the EU-As-We-Knew-It? Want me to cover the Holiday Special in December? This is the post to provide that feedback or any other advice.
Thank you once again for your support.
